About Us

Office Hours Improv works to bring long-form improvisational comedy to Bowdoin. Our group studies the teachings of the Upright Citizens Brigade and their manual on comedy improvisation, and we devote at least five hours a week to practicing and playing together. We value the UCB form and also try to explore new comedic forms based upon the group's interests. We take improv seriously as a comedic art, a structure to build community and as means to develop as individuals. We want every show to feel original and to offer something different than the last. We believe that the practice of improv stretches our imagination and helps us become more creative, trusting, and curious people. While this group admits new members via audition, we value inclusivity and are interested in sharing improv practices with the broader community. We love to laugh!
