Bowdoin’s Muslim Student Association strives to promote knowledge, awareness, and understanding of Islam and its followers in order to develop a community of tolerance and appreciation for diversity. Our mission is based on the conviction that we’re all brothers and sisters in humanity. We hope to bring together people with different levels of Islamic faith, and of different faiths by promoting a non-judgmental and welcoming atmosphere. We aspire to build and strengthen the Muslim community on campus by establishing events, activities, and reforms that will appeal to future applicants. Our mission is to not only provide the foundation with which future members can build upon, but to make Bowdoin a “home away from home” for them as well. We endeavor to accomplish the things that we do not for our own sake, but for the benefit of all the students that will come after us.
