BirdSafe Bowdoin Submission

Have you found a bird stunned or dead on campus? It's common for birds to strike building windows and sustain life-threatening injuries. We would like to track the frequency of these occurrences on Bowdoin's campus, so if you have seen a dead or stunned bird, snap a photo and report it to BirdSafe Bowdoin!

Bowdoin Naturalists Interactive Map

Check out this map to see some of the outdoor spaces in and around Brunswick we like to visit. The list includes things like lesser-known trail systems, interesting birding hotspots, where to plan a beach trip, the best tidepooling spots, and some wonderful views.

Some locations you can walk to, almost all you can bike to, and some you'll need to drive, but there's something for everyone here! Just remember to do your own research to make sure everything is open, figure out if there's an entrance fee, and look at the tides if you're going to the coast.

Opportunities for Members

Thanks to Kellie Navarro '23 and the Doris Duke Conservation Scholarship program, we are able to maintain a database of career opportunities for naturalists, ranging from early undergraduate internships and scholarships to graduate-level and long-term career opportunities.

Make sure to read the instructions before searching the database, and explore to your heart's content!
