Have a thing for birds? Really love moss? Totally obsessed with sea slugs? This is the place for you.

Our club fosters strong relationships and provides meaningful ways to engage with your local environment, wherever you are.

We welcome folks from all backgrounds, regardless of your level of experience with nature, art or science.

Our Mission

Bowdoin Naturalists is meant to encourage an understanding of local ecology and the natural history that surrounds us in the greater Brunswick and coastal Maine community. Our mission is to help students feel at home in all lands through identifying local species of trees, plants, insects, birds, fungi, and mammals and engaging with the outdoor world through reflection, exploration, art, and discussion. We hope to promote curiosity and a love of the outdoors through an informal and inclusive scientific space, while encouraging creative expression through art and writing to bridge the arts and sciences.
