About Us

fEMPOWER is dedicated to creating spaces on campus for women to discuss the intersections of gender norms around femininity and gender violence. It aims to start dialogue at Bowdoin around womanhood and give a voice to women's experiences on campus with an emphasis on providing a safe space for women to share stories of gender-based violence. Its work supports the constant evolution of "Rise: Untold Stories of Bowdoin Women," an annual production featuring Bowdoin women telling stories written by Bowdoin women, and sparks important discussion on campus.
