About Us
The mission of Bowdoin Muslim Life is to lead educational and creative programming around Muslim identities, cultures, traditions, values, and spiritualities. We seek to illuminate the plurality of Muslim experiences in the world while supporting the college’s broader commitment to the holistic formation of students’ minds and the development of their social and leadership skills. We aspire to call one another into moving through the world with greater humility, deeper integrity, and a more steadfast commitment to the common good as engaged citizens in a cosmopolitan society. We commit ourselves to the dignity and flourishing of all people, especially those made vulnerable by structural injustices. Such aspiration and commitment are nourished through dialogue with members of other faiths, cultures, and identities.
