Hello Sustainability Student Employees!

Welcome to the first Sustainable Bowdoin Weekly Digest for Fall 2022! Each Friday I'll send out some highlights of the work we've all be doing together, provide some updates and reminders, and share some events or resources that you may be interested in or want to share out with your peers. If you have anything you'd like me to include in these weekly emails - please send it my way! I'm excited we have our teams finally in place and ready to get things going next week. HIGHLIGHTS

SUSTAINABILITY COORDINATORS

The Sustainability Coordinators have been meeting and prepping for their teams and getting things ready to kick-off some of our upcoming events and initiatives. They are looking forward to starting team meetings in the next week!

COLLEGE HOUSE ECO REPS

The College House Eco Reps have been cleaning up their Green Cones, coordinating recycling and clynk, and discussing various sustainable behaviors that they can start encouraging within their houses. Each College House now also has a bucket for their kitchen with info about what can go into their Green Cone (see below).

FREECYCLE 2022 COMING TO A CLOSE!

We had nearly 1000 items and had over 300 students collect items through FreeCycle 2022! Thank you to Caroline, Kyra, and Ayanna for managing the FreeCycle pick-ups and a special shout-out to Ayanna for packing all of the remaining items and consolidating them into the one room (pictured above)! The remaining items will be picked up to be donated to a local organization and we hope to officially wrap up FreeCycle next week!

COMPOST BUCKETS ARE READY!
Camille Beaulieu has prepped compost buckets for our office so we can start getting these out to students next week. If anyone is interested in a bucket, have them email sustainability@bowdoin.edu.
