Explore the social and environmental challenges and choices in the contemporary Arctic with Andrew Hartsig '95, director of the Arctic Program at Ocean Conservancy; Susan Kaplan, professor of anthropology and director of the Peary-MacMillan Arctic Museum and Arctic Studies Center at Bowdoin; and Laura Henry, professor of government at Bowdoin. The 2021 Justice For Women Lecture will bring together an amazing lineup of activists from around the world for an engaging discussion on the impact of climate change on indigenous women. The tenth annual event is scheduled to take place virtually on Thursday, April 15, 2021 from 12:00 – 1:30 pm EDT.
The Lecture will kick off with a special message from Representative Deb Haaland and a reading by Joan Naviyuk Kane, Inupiaq writer, Harvard, Scripps, and Tufts faculty. - Watershed Protection Specialist, summer position with the Portland, ME Water District. This position is diverse and includes environmental sampling, field inspection work, limited laboratory analysis, as well as office tasks. A primary responsibility of this position will be to organize and conduct our seasonal Sebago Lake Beach Monitoring Program.
