The University of Southern Maine Women and Gender Studies Program, has invited us to their Annual Diana E. Long Lecture: Adding Fuel to the fire Compounding Reproductive Justice after Dobbs featuring Monique Rainford, M.D, M.B.A.
Dr. Rainford received her undergraduate degree at University of Pennsylvania before choosing to pursue medicine at Harvard Medical School. Currently, Dr. Rainford is a practicing physician of almost
20 years specializing in Obstetrics and Gyecology, and is well known and established within her field for advocating for reproductive rights and leading impactful conversations on the reproductive rights within marginalized communities.
Aside from being published in the South Florida Times, Thought Catalog, and Kevin MD, she has also made appearances on major news outlets such as CBS Baltimore, ABC 2 Baltimore and the Maggie Linton Show. Dr. Rainford is the author of Pregnant While Black, Advancing Justice for Maternal Health in America.
Dr. Rainford will be delivering a lecture at the
University of Southern Maine on the issues of maternal health and reproductive rights on Thursday, October 17th, 2024. Following the lecture, a roundtable of local experts will offer insights about the current challenges concerning reproductive and maternal rights that Maine communities currently face.
