It’s oh-fish-ial! This April, there will be fresh local Gulf of Maine fish served on Fridays (4/1-4/22) at Moulton and Thorne. Keep your eye out for seafood labeled with the Gulf of Maine Responsibly Harvested logo and the Certified Sustainable Seafood MSC label.

Founded in 2014 by early-career scientists at Woods Hole, SWMS brings together marine scientists of all career levels to discuss the diverse experiences of women in marine science, celebrate the research done by women in the field, and promote the visibility of women in the marine science community. SWMS' mentorship program pairs high school and undergraduate students with SWMS members to guide them in academic and career decisions.
The Solar Panel on Thursday, April 7 at 7:00 pm in the Roux Lantern. By the end of 2023, all solar projects contracted by Bowdoin are expected to be online and producing power, covering 100% of current electric usage with Maine-based renewable energy! Join our panelists as we discuss what it takes to get large scale solar projects up and running and how these projects will help lay the foundation for Bowdoin to achieve the longer-term goal of electrifying the campus and eliminating the use of fossil fuels. EE 40 Future: Reflecting on the Past and Envisioning Environmental Education for the Futureon Thursday, April 7 (virtual). Join us for Maine's largest statewide environmental education and outdoor learning conference! The Maine Environmental Education Association Conference will be held virtually on April 7th. There are 20+ workshops being offered, as well as networking opportunities, MEEA's annual meeting and an exciting keynote panel at 4:00 pm featuring: Ogechi Obi, Alivia Moore and Nolan Altvater. Youth Food Convergence Circle on Tuesday, April 19 1:00 - 3:00 pm.
Young people ages 14-22. Join a focus group style conversation about youth perspectives of Food Systems in Maine using a Maine Youth Action Network (MYAN) developed community circle model. Facilitated by Maine Food Convergence Hosts & Maine Youth Action Network, and is free of charge.
The 2022 Green Home + Energy Show on Saturday, April 9, 2022, from 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m. (EV ride and drive from noon – 3:00 p.m.) at the Point Community Center, 345 Clarks Pond Parkway in South Portland. It brings together different ideas and perspectives to inspire climate justice and climate action. Participants can attend one or all of the three days. Join NASA and the BOC on Thursday, April 7, at 5 pm for a discussion with Jordan Marie Brings Three White Horses Daniel (she/they). Daniel is an Indigenous marathoner and founder of Rising Hearts, a grassroots advocacy group. We will be screening Jordan's short film co-directed with Patagonia, "Run to be Visible," at the beginning of the talk.

Bowdoin’s first solar project, developed in 2014 with Solar City, included rooftop PV systems on Bowdoin's Farley Field House and Sidney J. Watson Arena. Since then, Bowdoin has entered agreements with numerous Maine PV facilities scheduled to come online in the next two years, including an innovative collaborative project with Amherst, Hampshire, Smith, and Williams colleges in Farmington, Maine, and a second large solar array on college-owned property at Brunswick Landing, the former Naval Air Station in Brunswick.
