This third session of a film viewing and discussion will be devoted to Wolfgang Peterson's "Troy" (2004), an epic retelling of the events surrounding Homer's Iliad and the Trojan War of legend. Like the others, it's a complement to the Classical Myth course (Classics 1101), and is open to the Bowdoin community. After watching, we'll discuss the changes to the original, the artistic license taken by the director, and the impacts of both on the original meanings of the epic tellings of the war.
