Join us for a discussion around Russia’s war on Ukraine on the fourth anniversary of the start of the full-fledged invasion. We’ll discuss the costs of the war and the prospects for peace, considering what has changed in Ukraine, Russia, the US and the world at large as a result of the war, and what this conflict might presage for the future. With the participation of Bowdoin for Ukraine (BfU) student organizers and Brian Milakovsky (expert on economic recovery in Ukraine and Associate Researcher at LSE IDEAS, London School of Economics and Political Science), and with recorded remarks by Oleksandra Matviichuk (director of the Kyiv-based non-profit organization Centre for Civil Liberties—a Nobel Peace Prize recipient in 2022) and Colonel Poleviy of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Sponsored by the departments of Russian, East European and Eurasian Studies, Government and Legal Studies, and the student group Bowdoin for Ukraine.
