The workshop is structured into three sessions, and you’re welcome to attend any combination that fits your interests and schedule. There’s no expectation of attending all three.
Introduction to AI Assistants for Research (10am-12pm)
In this workshop, attendees develop a stronger mental model of how these tools actually work, learn the three main levers that improve AI output quality (the model, the tools it has access to, and user prompting skill), and leave with concrete strategies for applying AI assistants more reliably across their research work.
Accelerating Rigorous Quantitative Research with AI Agents (1:15pm-2:45pm)
This workshop provides quantitative researchers with a practical framework for realizing the benefits while mitigating the very real risks, using the Data Analyst Augmentation Framework (DAAF): an open-source framework for Claude Code that accelerates data analysis while strictly enforcing transparency, reproducibility, and rigor.
Advanced Agent Orchestration Techniques (2:45pm-3:45pm)
This informal discussion brings together faculty power-users to share practical learnings from hundreds of hours developing advanced AI orchestration frameworks, covering Hooks, containerized environments, Git version control, context engineering, session logging, and more.
Lunch will be provided at Moulton between the morning and afternoon sessions for attendees who'd like to join.
Important Note: To participate fully in the workshops, you need a Claude license. If you do not have a license already, you must register by May 18th so we can provide you with a temporary one.
