About Us

The Bowdoin Harpoon is a student-run comedy newspaper founded in 2016, though it feels like it's been a pillar of the Bowdoin experience for much longer. The newspaper is dedicated to being a comedy outlet for the Bowdoin community, featuring news-satire, humor essays, illustrations, and videos. Our writers are free to express their own diverse perspectives while remaining respectful of other individuals at Bowdoin, unless, of course, those individuals participate in the J-Board or the Orient, in which case they will be addressed with all due acerbity. The Harpoon aims to be thoughtful, provocative, and, above all, erotically titillating. The Harpoon publishes both in print and digitally.
