Please join us over lunch for informal faculty-staff discussion with historian Dr. Mélanie Lamotte about her groundbreaking new book, By Flesh and Toil: How Sex Race and Labor Shaped the Early French Empire that came out in January with Harvard UP. Lunch will take place in the Hutchinson Room in Thorne on Tuesday April 28, 11:30-1. Please grab or bring your lunch and join us! We will read and focus on chapter 2, “Shifting Strategies” but all are very welcome to join the book discussion, whether you have time to read or not! The chapter is available electronically in our library’s collection here. Any questions? Please contact Katherine Dauge-Roth kdauge@bowdoin.edu.
