In this special class (part talk, part practice), Gen Khedrub will share a Buddhist approach to modern stress, offer some simple guided meditation, and be open for Q&A on how Buddha's teachings can illuminate and bring solutions to our modern-day challenges. Everyone is welcome!

In the last 100 years, we have witnessed remarkable developments in technology. We can access seemingly endless amounts of information on our digital devices. But are we losing the ability to access a peaceful mind? We have never been so connected, but recent studies are showing a growing increase in loneliness and other issues of mental health throughout our society. Buddha's teachings and meditations can provide us with timeless tools to address our human condition. They can help us become a person who is less stressed, less lonely, and less frustrated. And by practicing this ancient wisdom in daily life, we can bring about our potential for more confidence, purpose, patience and above all, kindness.

Gen Kelsang Khedrub is a western Buddhist monk and Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Center Boston. He has spent more than 25 years studying and practicing Kadampa Buddhism under the guidance of Geshe Kelsang Gyatso and is known for his teachings that are accessible to everyone, filled with humor and clarity. Through his kindness, humility and deep experience of Buddha's teachings, Gen Khedrub provides an inspiring example of a modern-day Buddhist practitioner. Born and raised in Toronto, Canada, Gen Khedrub earned his BA in economics from Harvard University before becoming ordained as a Buddhist monk. He has taught extensively across the U.S., including 13 years as Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Center Washington in Seattle, and a further ten years as Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Center Chicago.
