Mission
BUMP seeks to support and build a stronger community for underrepresented students on their path to medical professions with the overarching goal of diversifying healthcare. While the club closely aligns itself to the American Association of Medical Colleges' definition of underrepresented in medicine, those racial and ethnic populations that are underrepresented in the medical profession relative to their numbers in the general population, BUMP expands its meaning to include individuals marginzalied on the basis of class, gender, sexuality, religion, etc.

BUMP offers programming and fellowship centered on academic and social support, essential skills, and knowledge of the pathways to healthcare careers. By providing space for this community to grow, as well as tools to excel in medicine, BUMP supports underrepresented students in paths toward medical professions. BUMP students are supported throughout their undergraduate career to navigate and access high impact opportunities and learn what it means to be a strong candidate for medical and health professional schools.
