About Us
Bowdoin’s Department of Information Technology, in partnership with the Office of Diversity and Inclusion, is happy to announce the formation of the Women in Technology at Bowdoin Collaborative.
This initiative is intended to be an inclusive collaborative for women and non-binary people working at Bowdoin College whose job is technology-focused, and who desire a forum for discussion, support, training, and the development of skills to further their careers as information professionals and leaders in higher education. Woman-identifying and non-binary staff working with technology and data management span across many departments at Bowdoin including the library, museums, finance, development, student services, institutional research, IT and many more. If you enjoy working with technology in your role and would like to expand and enhance your technology journey, consider joining us!
Our goal is to create a program designed and powered by women and non-binary individuals that will provide vital support, advocacy, and developmental opportunities intended to address the historical gaps in demographics in technology-based careers. We hope to create a founding cohort of women from across Bowdoin to build this Collaborative, and to create the framework needed to influence, shape, and build career and leadership opportunities for women in technology in higher education with support from allies of diverse genders, ethnicities, and professional backgrounds within the Bowdoin community.
Programming this year will include conversations, guest speakers, workshops, and other engagement opportunities on topics such as designing your life, inclusive leadership, emotional intelligence, mindfulness, and self-care.
