Please join us on Monday, May 6 at 4:30 in Nixon Lounge for a presentation of work by students in LACL/HISP/GSWS 3257, A New Boom? Latin American Twenty-First Century Women Writers. Students embarked upon an analysis of the current boom of Latin American women writers using methods and tools both old and new: literary analysis, studies of cultural and historical influences, AI, GIS and visualizations, data analysis, multimedia, and social media. AT&C and Library staff supported the class by acquiring more than 300 new works by contemporary women writing in the Caribbean and Latin America and AT&C staff worked to produce visualizations, a WordPress site, and instructed the class on the use of AI tools for various forms of analysis.
The session will be in Spanish and English, with refreshments served.
