The 1921 Tulsa race massacre was the worst single incident of racial violence in American history—a tragedy that left scores if not hundreds dead and witnessed the total destruction of a vibrant African American district later known as Greenwood. But for more than fifty years the story of the massacre was actively suppressed and written out of history books. Award-winning historian and native Tulsan
Scott Ellsworth will reveal how the story of the massacre finally came to light.
