Attend just one, or both! The Gender, Sexuality, and Womens Studies (GSWS) Workshop brings together faculty and students from Bowdoin College and beyond to foster intellectual community and interdisciplinary collaboration in gender and sexuality studies. The workshop is structured as a seminar-style meeting in which an author presents a work-in-progress. Before each meeting, registrants receive the author’s unpublished paper, about 25 pages in length. The author and a discussant open the discussion with short presentations. Then, attendees continue to discuss the paper with the author. Snacks will be provided.

First meeting: Wednesday, October 8, 2025, 4:30-5:30 PM. Keona Katrice Ervin. “Refusal: Black Women Workers and the Practice of Emancipation." [Paper distributed September 29]

Second Meeting. November 12, 4:30-5:30 PM. Angel Matos, "Puerto Rican Diasporas and the Queer Politics of Mobility in Young Adult Literature." [Paper distributed November 3].

To receive the paper, please register for the event or reach out to tdonovan@bowdoin.edu.

The location is fully accessible via ramp. There is an accessible, private (all-gender) restroom in close proximity.
