Mission The Eisenhower Forum seeks to bring students together to discuss underrepresented thought at Bowdoin. We meet each week having read on a topic of political, philosophical, or policy-related import to offer our thoughts and critique the material. We aim to give students an opportunity to engage seriously with often-neglected ideas and values in a warm, collegial atmosphere. In the same vein, we bring speakers each semester whose ideas go against the grain of mainstream American academia. Eisenhower attracts free thinkers: students with strong convictions but open minds. Past topics of discussion at Eisenhower include presidential authority, federalism, the family in American life, and much more.
