Presented by the Bowdoin College Cinema Studies Program at the Eveningstar Cinema

Heightened Scrutiny follows Chase Strangio, ACLU attorney and the first out trans person to argue before the Supreme Court, as he fights a highstakes legal battle to overturn Tennessee’s ban on gender-affirming care for transgender youth (US v. Skrmetti). As SCOTUS prepares to rule on the case, the film considers the fight for bodily autonomy as a fight for democracy and offers a powerful call to action against bigotry and injustice.

Tickets are free with Bowdoin ID for the first fifty attendees at each screening and on sale to members of the community through the cinema: https://www.eveningstarcinema.com/ Short discussion to follow film.
