Uma Mohamed

Uma is a Senior, DCS-Psychology major, and former BSU board member! She made an amazing document with Career Building and Interviewing Tips that is an excellent resource for students, and we suggest you all check it out. Thank you, Uma!

Neiman Mocombe

Neiman has curated a book collection with the theme “The Black Artist” that will be on display in HL library. He will be interviewed with Q&As Friday, September 27th at 4PM. Please come out to support!

My fellow polar bears,

The year grows colder. Facilities has started turning the heat on. Or was that just a result of the FIRE BSU KICKOFF WEEKEND we just had??
First off, we want to give a big big thank you to everyone who showed up to the Kickoff and showed out at the Soul Train Party. What an amazing start to the year! We loved being in community with each and every one of you. We have more events coming up, so make sure you stay tuned and mark your calendars!

ELECTIONS

UPPERCLASSMEN:
Thank you so much to everyone who has applied to be on the board. We will be having an election for Member-At-Large that will close on FRIDAY @ NOON. Other positions will be announced after the election is over as they didn’t have as many applicants.

FIRST YEARS:
Now that y’all had a little taste of BSU, we want you to get involved! We will be holding elections for TWO (2) First Year Representatives this week! Submit a written statement or a video by the end of Wednesday. Elections will be held from Thursday until FRIDAY @ NOON, so make sure you VOTE!

We look forward to working with each of you, and we’re excited to have an expanded board with so many great minds.

Want a spotlight?

Each week, we want to highlight the achievements of Black Students in our newsletter at the beginning of each week. Whether it’s academic, creative, athletic, etc., we wanna spotlight the great things you do!

If you would like to be spotlighted or want to highlight someone to spotlight, please fill out the form linked below.
