On Saturday April 6th, you’re all invited to the Pejepscot History Center headquarters on Park Row to for their annual volunteer kickoff. This is a great opportunity if you are interested in volunteering with the PHC. Here’s what the day will look like:

10am- Arrive, socialize, have some coffee on us, and file into the front room to hear from Sarah and Larissa about what PHC has going on this year and projects or tasks that you could get involved with.
11am- Enjoy a presentation on the history of Brunswick and Bowdoin College from an expert: John Cross, the Secretary (and unofficial historian!) of the College. John will help us contextualize the role of PHC as one of the custodians of Brunswick’s history!
12pm- Take a break for lunch, featuring some lovely wraps and whoopie pies from Wild Oats.
1pm- Split into groups based on your interest: one group will go next door to the Skolfield-Whittier house and hear fascinating stories from the forensic career of Frank Whittier; the other group will head up to the Joshua Chamberlain museum to hear more about two early residents, Henry Wadsworth Longfellow and his first wife Mary.

We’re planning to wrap up by 2pm and send you on your way a little fuller, a little wiser, and a lot more excited for opening to the public in May.
Food Provided (Wraps and Whoopie Pies from Wild Oats Bakery!)
