Artist Talk with Neal Ambrose-Smith: Honoring the Legacy of Jaune Quick-to-See Smith

Join us for a public program that celebrates the remarkable career and legacy of artist Jaune Quick-to-See Smith (1940–2025). An enrolled citizen of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai tribes, Smith worked in painting, printmaking, collage, drawing, mixed media, and sculpture to explore issues confronting contemporary Native American communities, including histories of oppression and environmental degradation. This talk will be presented by her son, collaborator, educator, and fellow artist Neal Ambrose-Smith. Please join us for a reception following the lecture at 6:00 p.m. in the pavilion at the Bowdoin College Museum of Art.
