We are asking you 2 questions:

1. When do you feel the most alienated or vulnerable (because of your race/identity)?
2. When do you feel the most supported?

In light of the potent racism, discrimination, and injustice persisting in the US and around the world, ASA is working with other affinity groups to create a photo project/exhibit.

Our aim is to highlight Bowdoin students' experiences as students of color and members of minority groups. We are inviting you to become part of this project!

Cheng Xing '23 is going to hold photoshoot sessions from April 1 to April 15 (time slots available in Registration below).
We will take two photos of you -- 1 black & white and 1 colored.

Five years ago, ASA carried out a similar project that received coverage from NYT & went viral (link at the bottom). This time, our plan is to create a website with a large collage of side-by-side photos to send to the Bowdoin administration and to share on social media. If we all work together, we can create an impactful statement.

Off-campus students and students who cannot make photoshoot sessions: we really want you to be part of this, too. These photos can be taken with a phone camera. It would be best if they were similar in size and spacing to the sample photos shown here. If you don't have a whiteboard, please use a sheet of white paper for your answers to the two questions (and no need to make the photo black & white if you can't).

If you are not able to register a slot, please email Cheng at cxing@bowdoin.edu to schedule some other time for the photoshoot.
